The 'visit a place' section of the new HES website

Our new website is live! Have you had a chance to look around it yet?

We’ve been working hard to make sure our new site meets our users’ needs, and we’ll be continuing to do so.

You, our users, are key. We’ve spoken to you to ensure that we know exactly what you need from us.

And as everyone involved in the digital sector knows, ‘content is king’. It’s a well-worn cliché, especially among the Digital Team here at Historic Environment Scotland.

But as cliché as it is, it’s still as relevant as ever. So we’ve rewritten all of our content to ensure it best meets your needs.

We’re all really proud and excited to let you see it, so we’ve picked a few key parts to get you started.

Visit a place

Here you can ponder where to go for your next epic day out at one of over 300 stunning properties that we look after.

Whet your appetite by reading about the varied history of our sites and browsing galleries of images, then set forth on your next adventure.

If your thirst for castles, palaces, and brochs isn’t easily quenched you can also find details of our Explorer Passes or even our Membership which can save you money on visiting many of our sites.

Website feedback – we want to hear from you!

While we’re really happy with the new website, there are always ways we can improve it. As a Digital Team, we are always looking at feedback and data to improve upon the websites and products we look after.

If you have any ideas or feedback on the website you’d like to tell us, then you can get in touch with us using our contact form or emailing us at website@hes.scot.
